For the record, making fun of someone's car doesn't consitute cyberbullying, it's not even close. Now, if you go out and say, if I see you in that car I'm going to do some serious damage to it/you, then you cross that line. No one has done that. For it to be bullying, there has to be a threat, at least an implied threat. That hasn't happened, and hopefully never will. Pink flames on a blue car with a black roof, you're begging for attention, especially when you post it publicly. It may not be the reaction you'r looking for, if you make a statement like that. Last year there was a guy who drove a GP to the other side of the road for turns, like it was a racetrack. He got called out big time. He apologized profusely, on multiple forums. Apology accepted by the entire community, everyone forgot about it and moved on.
This is getting off topic, but teenagers have been driven to suicide by taunting and ridicule. That's still cyberbullying. Edit: Just to be clear, I don't feel there has been cyberbullying in this thread. I only wanted to point out that it doesn't necessarily involve a threat.
You're right, it is off-topic; making fun of an adult's car's appearance and calling out dangerous driving, after posting a video of driving in a reckless manner that endangers the safety of others, posted on a public youtube video, isn't the same; it's not even close to cyberbullying a teenager.... When we start spinning the perpetrator into the victim, words fail me...
This is not cyber bullying in any way. She posted it on YouTube a public website to show off her time at the Dragon. No one has made any threats at all. All we have done is pointed out how incredibly stupid she was for how she was driving. The most shocking thing she did was making a 3 point turn on a blind turn on the Dragon. If you were able to view the video and have driven on the Dragon and seen how fast accidents happen you would feel the same way.
Can anyone link to some videos from this year's event where people were staying in their lane, but moving along at a good clip I can enjoy? I haven't been back to the Gap in years. (maybe there is a thread going here or on other MINI sites folks can reference?)
Dang! I go away for a long weekend and miss all..... well, some of the fun! Would have liked to see the video that has sparked so much interest.
This was last year, if you want to get your Dragon fix. Best viewing at 720 or 1080. And yes I stayed in my lane and no three point turns.[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TML0-gxadrA"]MOTD 2013 The Tail of the Dragon - YouTube[/ame]
I'm sorry -but if people taunt, criticize and make fun of you on the internet to the point that you need to assault them or commit suicide - then there is something wrong with you mentally. Fact is the strongest survive call it cruel or Darwinism, but there are too many defective genes being perpetuated in society today .
