Three dead after Scottish car rally collisions

    People and event amateur photographers will get into the strangest and unsafe places to spectate and take pictures. Pro photographers know the safe spots or they are not pro very long.

    I think folks who hang over the road in extreme rallies are adrenalin junkies, not always fully thinking with their brains but perhaps the ego or just plain stupid.

    I do not think this will change, it sounds like the rally was well run and safety was part of the plan. When I raced and worked events, it was safety first, car prep safety, and knowing to stay out of the way, the race marshals have a #1 rule, watch your ass.

    Spectators do not, all the care about is the action and it is better if they are close to a major incident.

    Sad for the deaths and injuries, although I don't want to see this type of racing dumbed down due to over-reaction.
