After Ben Collins revealed himself to be The Stig, there will be a new one to replace him. And once he, she or it is in place, the speculation of The Stig's real identity will start afresh. So who's set to be the new Stig? According to a report from the UK's Daily Mirror, it's Tiff Needell. Now, well-informed fans will point out that Needell is host of rival program Fifth Gear (the same show that picked up Ben Collins after he left Top Gear), so clearly something's amiss here. The story is that Needell – who co-hosted the old Top Gear before the current format was installed – offered to help out his rivals and old friends at Top Gear in one specific capacity: namely, to help the show's latest Star in a Reasonably Priced Car – Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle – learn his way around the test track, a job usually undertaken by His Royal Stigness. Will this have been a one-time deal, or will Needell be hanging out regularly with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond? That depends on how long it takes the blokes at the BBC to find a long-term replacement.
I very much doubt that that many egos of that size could fit in a confined space without going critical.
I vote for Sabine Schmitz - especially as she may be losing her Nordschlieffe gig.....not to mention she's a great driver and lots of fun! Cute too!
Plato's out Sabine is in!!! Yes I agree Sabine would be good. She's a great driver & a good looker. It would be a win-win. :smile5:
Wouldn't have to worry if he has his helmet on for a scene either as no one would notice one way or the other......
Then you obviously haven't watched any World Rally Car events this past year, when they've had this spooky Raikonen impostor driving a Citroen. He did look exactly like Kimi but not only did he talk almost freely, he spontaneously grinned at times. It was very disturbing, I tell you.
Kimi grinned?? Now we know why Europe is experiencing such odd cold weather, the Ice Man warmed up and flooded the land with cold air.
I might need to upgrade my cable package for next years's WRC. I saw him smile twice in F1. 1) After a Monaco shunt when he left the track and went straight to the drink (both types) on someone's boat 2) After winning the Driver's Championship
Not at all - the man looked like he was genuinely enjoying motor sport for the very first time. It was so nice to see him looking at ease and it went on all year. Seen this guy before?
I was referring to the OP about The Stig and Tiff...........lol I mean, that is what this thread is about, right?
They sure expressed their unhappiness with the "dear departed" Stig in the special last night, didn't they? Gotta wonder tho, it seems Tiff's line thru some of the turns was faster?
Some info here, not much to go on yet.... http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/off-topic-general/5618-seasons-greetings-sabine-schmitz.html
