Haha it almost looks fast forwarded that first bit of straight and turns. Classic.

yep... the Red MINI is almost dialed in... we were thinking about putting in a 'scramble boost' button for the straight away, but it appears that we're ok in the power dept. What she needs is bigger shoes... she's on 225's right now.. imagine if we can fit some 265's on there... then it's all over with
stay tuned... 3 remaining rounds of RTA for 2010 -
Just saw this on bimmerpost, that MINI is disgustingly fast. Very well done

Dez 1:27.782 v Paul 1.32.064
after the swop over
Paul 1:32.333 and Dez went 1:32.224 -
Are you trying to say this
Dez in MINI 1:27.782
Paul in MINI 1:32.333
Dez in BMW 1:32.224
Paul in BMW 1.32.064
Please correct me if I am wrong. -
If it is time attack and your going for the fastest time why do you switch one car in front during a run, is this normal in Redline, what if there is more than two cars?

At the end of the lap, the gap is measured and compared after the runs are complete. I believe it's a rolling start as well after one warm up lap. That's how the japanese ones were run atleast.
Edit: Guess it's called "circuit battle".

Guess that's why you would have a camera pointed out the back too.....

1. Time Attack - each car goes out onto the track in 20 second intervals and get the cleanest and fastest time.
2. Circuit Battle (depicted in this video between the M3 and the MINI) - which is similar to Togue Battle (this is pretty much the same format that's employed by Formula Drift). One car leads, the other car is in the chase... 2nd lap, the lead/chase cars are swapped and car with the smallest gap wins (NO PASSING is ALLOWED). During this battle, the transponders are active and the times of the competitors are logged but not counted towards Time Attack Finals.
3. Super Session (Wheel-to-wheel racing) - fastest cars from each class (Super mod, Modified, and Street) are gridded from fastest to slowest (sometimes slowest to fastest), and it's 5 hot laps of open racing with a rolling side-by-side start.
4. Drag Racing - 1/4 mile straight line racing
5. Drift competition - tandem battle, Togue style
6. Car show.
So at the July 4th weekend at Willow Springs, RTA featured all 6 of the above events listed. Hope this clarifies things up a bit... Super Session is by far my favorite race of the weekend...
