I find it weird, everyone I show the pics too, then tell em no airbags deployed, they all say wtf.... and I kinda agree with em. I'd be lying if I wasn't bothered by them going off. They should have... I think...

Glad your ok. Well there are a lot of factors which and when the module decides to deploy. I guess the first and most common is speed to brake pressure and sudden drop of speed , example your at 120 mph then you apply hard braking the presure sensor alerts ABS which signals the module then makes an assesment the time , like you would decelerate from 120 to 25 in 3 secs and the module detects this as abnormal rate and will decide. In your case i think that ABS did its job well , it detected the your loosing traction and your yaw rate was probably uncontrolable so air bag modulegives the command to execute.

Thanks. I am as well, it could have been way worse.
I guess mentally I keep getting caught up on the fact that if the car sensors read that it was on the side or even upside down, the airbags should deploy as a precautionary. Say if my seatbelt broke (and I didn't have the harnesses) those airbags I would hope deploy to make sure the passengers /driver is safe.
I guess I get the physics with the sensors bit dang, the car was ipside down! Lol -

I once survived flipping a F-150 (at least three times) on the interstate at 70-ish. I landed well off the road in the grass, right side up. I was aware of much of the rolling over (loud concrete, being lifted up away from wheel) but the minute the truck slammed down on all four wheels the airbag went off. Pushed the sunglasses into my eyes and cracked three ribs. I'm glad you're ok, but keep a safe distance from those bags!

Looks like they are going to give me $14,231 for the car. Gap will cover the differance. Now its time to try and figure out how to get another car since I am not getting any money back

....and the insurance guy said the airbag issue is actually not as uncommon as you think. rollover or not.

Well, bad news... They are paying 14k for the car, gap is covering the rest... that's about it. No money for me.
