Thanks. I am as well, it could have been way worse. I guess mentally I keep getting caught up on the fact that if the car sensors read that it was on the side or even upside down, the airbags should deploy as a precautionary. Say if my seatbelt broke (and I didn't have the harnesses) those airbags I would hope deploy to make sure the passengers /driver is safe. I guess I get the physics with the sensors bit dang, the car was ipside down! Lol
I once survived flipping a F-150 (at least three times) on the interstate at 70-ish. I landed well off the road in the grass, right side up. I was aware of much of the rolling over (loud concrete, being lifted up away from wheel) but the minute the truck slammed down on all four wheels the airbag went off. Pushed the sunglasses into my eyes and cracked three ribs. I'm glad you're ok, but keep a safe distance from those bags!
I have to see what it'll take and cost to get the car bought out. But idk if I'll have access to strip it yet.
On that, the airbags didn't deploy, that is what I am concerned about. I would imagine that in a rollover the bags would deploy, but they didn't.
Looks like they are going to give me $14,231 for the car. Gap will cover the differance. Now its time to try and figure out how to get another car since I am not getting any money back
....and the insurance guy said the airbag issue is actually not as uncommon as you think. rollover or not.
Physically no I'm not hurt, but man I tell ya, when they **** happens, it really fkn happens. Been raining **** all day.
Well, bad news... They are paying 14k for the car, gap is covering the rest... that's about it. No money for me.
Time to buy a MINI & start a new payment book, seems like the only thing to do. You were very smart to have gap insurance.
