If you have a DSC toggle it looks like you have DSC toggled to off. Tap it the other way and the DSC light may go off.
If the tire have the correct pressure ( *note your 03 does not have TPMS sensors in the tires) Get in the car start it then press and hold down the tire button in between the seats. After about 20-30 seconds let it go turn your car are off and start it again and the light should be gone.

On some cars if you put the steering shaft on incorrectly this will happen. On my wife Sequa, after putting on anew steering rack, I was 2 or 3 splines off and the traction control light and a few others came on. If the steering wheel angel does not match the angel of the wheels the ECU thinks theres a problem

Well it was a possible free easy fix first. :nonod::frown5: -
On her car I drove it up the drive way to make sure the tires were straight. Then climbed under it and took the shaft off the rack and had my wife hold the steering wheel straight so I could get the shaft on correctly. I did not remove the steering wheel. Just curious, why did you replace the shaft?
Also I don't know where the steering angel sensor is on a mini or if it has one, but this sounds like it may be the same type problem. I will check the bentley manual and get back to you. In the mean time someone smarter than me may know. -
Here you go. #8 is the steering angel sensor. Make sure it is plugged in but I feel sure that the shaft was not aligned correctly and causing the problem. I do not know if you can adjust the sensor, but you need to align the steering wheel any way.

Was the shaft new, or used? I thought the only shafts available are for right hand drive MINI's and there is a procedure to make them compatible for left hand drive. Could this have something to do with a sensor, or something else, not being aligned and causing your lights?

According to a NAM post from Detroit Tuned, the steering angle sensor needs to be zero'd out with a quality scan tool because of the RHD shaft or it will cause ASC/DSC issues. If not new, maybe the sensor still has to be zero'd out when re-installed in a different car.
