Here's the issue with changing locations...we are not a club (per se) but a bunch of MINI owners that like to hang out together. We've been in New Albany since inception and those that don't follow the boards know that the 3rd Saturday of every month the MINI crowd will be at Tim's in New Albany. For me I like the venue...heck I drive from Powell but I LIVE to drive my MINI. Allen, step out on the wild side through that 55 mph four lane, I came off the ramp at 92 this morning and motored through there at about 85...c'mon.:biggrin5:

My vote...keep something in my life constant:donut1::donut1::donut1: Tim's New Albany for me:Thumbsup:

Let's stick with Tim's as the old regular. I think we might lose some folks. we can get creative with other get togethers.

When this was brought this up today for some reason I immediately thought of North High St. north of 270. Easy access to 270/highways, kind of centrally located.
I come from Hilliard so anything inside New Albany is going to be closer to me.
No matter what would be chosen, it would always be inconvenient to someone!

In the end it's not so much about where, but that everyone is there.

I prefer the current location, but it's only once a month. If a more central location means more people can make it than I am all in favor.

I vote for someplace on a fun road, I hate going through that dam 55 zone on 161, I mean come on the road is 4 lanes wide on each side and the speed limit is 55???

I would also vote for something other than Tim Hortons, I am tired of supporting a Canadian company :)

Anyone know a proper "sit down and order a greasy cup of coffee from a scary waitress with Pal-Mal voice" place anywhere central(ish)? :)

I take my wife to the Clarmont for Saturday breakfast every once and a while.
They also have a big parking lot.... Probably safer than the Planks neighborhood.....

Either place would be good - Plank's is DELICIOUS, but I remember it as having a small parking area, and every time I've been I remember it being PACKED. It's been a long time since I was at the Clarmont, but I remember it being tasty...

There are two Planks.... The German Village location has a tiny parking lot. The Parson's ave. is much larger.

Oh wait... I was thinking of Tommy's when I said it was small and packed every time I went in. Sorry... Planks on Parsons does have a pretty large lot.

Yeah, and after Tim's, we could all drive over and stare at Aaron's old house.....

Think it would creep out the new owner????

We have thought about this for the older Minis and we have the same problem. People know where you guys meet. Someone will always have a far drive. I think the lower parking lot is great for the cars. Plus it gives me a great reason to eat bad, I mean it's ssssoooooooo good.

Mark I agree with you. Moving is a good way to lose touch with folks. I too love to drive my MINI. New Albany has easy access to wonderful driving roads. Babs & I used it as a launching pad for our back road drive today. You guys missed a good one.

Having breakfast at a sit down restaurant while nice sometimes makes it hard to mingle with folks & move about.

I think staying where we are works well. :donut1:
