Thanks guys. Jim was a great guy with an even greater sense of humor. Here's the back of his business card. Yes, this is a real photo. Yes, he's the one who performed this evolution... The date; September 20, 2000 - The City of Emeryville FD, Engine 2442 assisting the City of Oakland FD, requested to assist two Oakland firefighters in hand laying a 5" supply line to an Oakland engine. As an obstacle was encountered at the hydrant, Jim did what we've all dreamt of doing. Jim always said, "Problem solved through Firefighter Ingenuity."
I like the way he sloved the problem. The loss of a first responder is a loss for us all. Sheep dogs that run to the danger not away!
Today I realized that the F55 is only ugly in between the license plates... Other than that they aren't bad!
Today is the first day since December that I sat down and had a real smoke (for untold reasons)... Thanks for the smoke Jeff!
Today, we (Cal Fire) officially opened our wild land Fire Season in central California. It was only 91 here today...
That'd be nice. It won't help much though, as the fuel's overall moisture content is lacking at the middle to higher elevations due to the extended period of drought. The grasses are thick and 2-3 feet high in most places, at the lower elevations, and are already ready to rock. It might be an interesting season out West..., we will see.
