Today, is a day of great personal relief. Yah, I know you're thinking odd thoughts. Don't... My son returned from his off road race in Primm safe and sound. The truck however didn't fare so well. It caught fire Saturday, causing an early retirement as one might expect. Both my son and his navigator were inhurt and were able to put out the fire before too much damage was done. These two young men had an experience they'll never forget and admit they have a renewed respect for all life holds for us. Tonight's welcome home hug was the best ever yet!
Today is the day my "work" machine decided to Blue Screen 8 times and now it's Dead. YAY! Our IT group has to build and ship me a new one that may not get here until Monday. FYI I have been complaining / logging tickets with our helpdesk for weeks but I know nothing. Now they are jumping because a VP said that the service I have been receiving is unacceptable. Anyhow I have had my machine doing (2) daily backups (8AM & 8 PM) to the network for the last 2 years since I knew this was going to happen one day. Guess who has a day and 1/2 off with pay? THIS GUY!
Rub it in... I didnt even take my lunch break today, just so I could meet the companies goal of doing 5 units in a month... Just have to paint it tomorrow, and I'm done! Started with that on Monday, I'll get a completed pic tomorrow after paint.
If you want to live in a 27,000 pound block of concrete, sure! The same precast concrete company we use to pour them, also makes some pretty wicked "Storm" shelters... Not sure why you would need a solid 1" thick steel door to block out a little rain, but "Storm" is what they are going with.
We had just pulled it into the shop... (The top is open, until the 17,000 pound roof section goes on.) And because its friggin COLD!
