"The Goodwood Revival really is a magical step back in time... for the whole weekend you're untouched by the modern world." - Max Partl, Classic Mini racer at the 2013 Goodwood Revival.

For connoisseurs of classics, there's no better place to indulge than the famed Goodwood Revival Meeting. Once a year, the historic 3.8 kilometres of the Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester, West Sussex is lined with gears of all kinds from bygone, yet celebrated eras. Planes from the 40s, bicycles from the 50s, motorcycles from the 60s - machines of every variety take to the track and the skies, proving with roars of motors matched by the crowd that they are neither gone nor forgotten. The Goodwood Revival brings those days of yore to life in brilliant detail, from the immaculate cars of yesterday down to the vintage attire worn by the tens of thousands of time-travelling attendees.

Naturally, MINI had some classics of its own to bring to the festivities.

After its monumental 1964 win at Monte Carlo, the Classic Mini showed the world that its thirst for thrills was far greater than its practical proportions suggested, asserting itself once and for all as a serious contender both on the track and off. Now in 2013 - the 50th anniversary of the MINI Cooper S - some modern talent is getting behind the wheel of the classics. Between laps, we grabbed Classic Mini racer and eleven-time Dakar Rally champion Stéphane Peterhansel and teammate Max Partl for a few words on their cars and some commentary on the event's excitement. This was the first Goodwood Revival for each of them, but they quickly picked up on what all the intrigue was about.
