If he's as good an actor as he thinks he is, he'll make us forget who he is.

Might as well have gotten Danny DeVito. They are about the same height. No where near as tall as Shelby.

He will be standing on a box the whole movie.

Yes, Tom is a little nutty outside of the stage. It's hard to deny that he is an exceptional actor though.

As a Shelby fan I look forward to seeing the movie regardless of who is acting in it... Granted I'd of thought they would have gotten someone who was alittle gritty/gruff to play the part.. Hoping for the best though.

True Tom has done some good roles, but a fairly tall lanky Texan he is not....Don' t care how high his heels and how bad his Hollywoo accent will be....:sly:

But do look forward to the story being told on the big screen!!

I think Cruise is a good actor, his personal life is something else. I think if you looked at most of these famous people's lives you probably wouldn't really care for them either. I don't know about playing Mr Shelby, don't see it, that would probably have to be his best performance to date, but thats what actors get paid for.

I guess the question would be who could play Mr. Shelby? If Clint Eastwood was a little younger he would be my first choice. Harrison Ford would have been a good candidate too. I don't know about whats out there now though.

I don't have a problem with TC taking the role, but for the sake of the argument... eff it... Why not Handsome Rob himself, Jason Statham?

I nominate Nathan Fillion to play Carol Shelby...they have the same sense of humor, if anyone could do Carol justice it would be Capt. Malcom Reynolds

That would be great! Then Sinead O'connor could go on SNL, tear up a picture of Andrew Dice Clay on national TV, and have another 15 minutes....

Not to take this too far off topic but I was extremely disappointed in the last three. IMHO I think these failed because you already new what the outcome was going to be. certian things had to happen for the orginal three to happen.

When the element of surprise is removed, it's alway harder to create the same emotion as the original.

One of hardest problems with doing historical movies, we know the ending... Who watched Rush that didn't know Lauda was going to be burned horribly and Hunt would win that year's championship...
