Finally got it, after 7 times on HD gave up and got it on regular after 3 downloads, will have to wait until tomorrow night to watch it know.
First attempt, crapped out after about 1/2 of the download. But, I stopped computing and went away, so maybe my computer went into sleep mode despite being in the middle of a download? When I had the Cox digital cable package, my download speeds were phenominal. Since I cancelled cable tv, Cox apparently decided I wasn't worthy of true high speed, even though I still pay them $50/mo for internet. So, my download speeds are significantly slower. Right now, about 450Kb/sec.
Second try got half as far as the first...this isn't boding well. Perhaps the HD vid can be broken into segments for the download challenged? EDIT: Third try, got 1.6GB. Tried to watch, had to download codec. Got it to work. Man, HD is nice! I'm used to low quality Youtube streaming. Unfortunately, I only got the first 51min of the program. I'm going to have to figure out a way to improve things (maybe dump cox for another provider?). Can you zip or otherwise compress the HD file and still have HD quality after the transfer? What other options are available? Nice to have the full BBC UK program without commercial interruptions. Makes the show much more enjoyable.
I had trouble getting the HD version as well. Kept stopping during the download without any errors. Just acted like it had completed the download. SD version came through fine though. Great episode! It's almost like this is episode 1 of season 16 since they preview what's coming up in the next season. That's usually something they do at the beginning of each season.
Ditto. Except that I have been having similar problems even downloading the SD version. Though generally I've been able to download the SD version in about 25-30 min per episode, mostly on the first try.
Fun episode. It is fun seeing the boys in places that I recignize. Too bad they we not able to take advantage of some of the other roads around the BRP which can be great fun (even at the posted speed limit.) I would be awful fun to run the BRP without worrying about the posted speeds or traffic for that matter.
Still Trying... Maybe its me but I am still having issues. I don't get any errors on the DL but it never seems to be the whole file. I gave up on the HD and went with SD and thought all was good. Started watching again and made it to the NYC segment when they were going up the Avenue of the Americas. Then it just died. I assume there is more?
You gotta go with the VLC player if you want to watch it on the computer. Best all purpose media player there is. If you have a PS3 and want to stream it you need the PS3 media server. I know of no reliable way to get it to the Xbox 360. If it plays on Window Media player it should work ok streaming it to the 360.
