1st Gen R52 Cooper Convertible Top Squeaking on operation

    Lately I notice when I operate the top it squeaks. Is this something to be concerned with? Do I need to do some sort of maintenance?

    A shot of dry lube on the scissor hinges will help. Also, with to top up, lift the top from the boot along with the tray and you can reach in along the side to clean and lube the mechenism. It is a reach but worth the effort.

    I have short little arms, I may need to find someone to help me with this.
