Watch Michel Sallenbach's in-car cam from the Toronto Indy (Saturday race): [ame=http://vimeo.com/13724559]Toronto 46 Sat July 17-Sallenbach race on Vimeo[/ame]
nice vid. i kept waiting for him to make the pass and was shocked when the car he was chasing hit the wall! nice clean, close action.
I love the ol' Alain Prost on the Honda: Harass the guy until he makes a mistake--into the tires at the end of the long straight.
That is what happens when you drive your mirrors more than your car. It's not an uncommon occurrence. Great video for sure.
That was the "rookie" driver driving our #46 car too. The ******* veteran (me) ended-up in the tire wall :0. I guess we'll have to post that video at some point too!
Hey! I like your screen name! Very appropriate! I think his rear-view mirrors were painted Orange by that point. We don't have the power to pass them in straight line so we do it however we can!
Great pass no harm no foul. I know it is very frustrating to be faster than the guy in front, but he is only fast on the straights. You have to love it when someone goes & does that for you.
Hope this does not sound dumb, but I have never tracked. It sounded like you were reving several times a fair ways from the actual entry into the turn. I am guessing the clutch was in and you were using heel & toe to set it up? Jim
Nice video, great action. BTW, what were all of the hand motions at the end of the video? Also, jpropane, I guess you were in the red MINI ? Hopefully you were OK, and the MINI had minor issues from the wall incident.
That's correct, Michel was heel&toe-ing (Matching the revs with the speed of the car). The End of the straight line is a pretty dramatic one as you downshift 3gears (5th to 2nd).
Probably just waving at the crew. Yes I was driving the other car. When I have a chance to edit the video I will post it. I am fine thank you (apart from my bruised ego from stuffing it in the wall ). The car was pretty torn-up as it was tagged in the quarter panel by another competitor after rebounding from the tire wall. It was back on track on the Sunday. We are now making permanent fixes.
