All of Subaru's flat fours have been horizontal & all have been a pain in the arse to change plugs on. The FRS/BRZ twins may be harder. I read that they have that engine set even lower in the chassis to enhance the low cg. I also heard what was said in the commercial. It is a first for Toyota, but not Subaru.

I'll defer to those familiar with the Boxer configuration, all I know is what they said; here's the direct quote:
"It's the world's first and only horizontally opposed Boxer engine." -
When I first saw the commercial I was thinking the same thing, that the marketers went a bit far. -

I just discovered these cars last week. I haven't had the opportunity to drive one yet, but I did see one at a Scion lot. It is a fine looking car.
I'm thinking about a BRZ Limited. I Like the heated seats, automatic climate control, Torsen differential, and xenon lights in that version.
No way I'm getting rid of the MINI, but I'd dearly love to have the Soul Crushing POS (Honda Civic) be replaced with a BRZ. -

Anyone's local Subaru dealer got these laying around. My local dealer is the pits. Usually only has maybe 15 new and used Subaru combined on the lot at any one time..Let alone one of these..
Would like to hear from some people who either bought and or has gotten to really drive one.. or the Scion for that matter.. Already hearing talk of the engine area being hard to get to.. are you going to have to take half the car apart to do much of anything in there?? -

Love the idea of the BRZ/FRS, but the back end / taillights are just plain ugly... in my opinion, of course.
For the money, I'd buy a used Cayman. If it had to be new, I'd probably go with something that's actually practical AND fun... like a MINI, Focus ST, etc.
A real test-drive may change my mind. I guess from driver's seat I can't see how ugly it is. -

:cornut: Interesting...........it has direct and port injection so there shouldn't be a 'carbon problem.'
