Listen closely next time, there is a pause then they something to the effect of "with direct port injection"

When I first saw the commercial I was thinking the same thing, that the marketers went a bit far.

I just listened again and they did go a bit far. The copy doesn't lie but the long pause does exactly what they meant it to do, imply that they're making separate, stand-alone statements. No surprise though, thanks for pointing it out, I usually catch that sort of marketing department trickery. :biggrin5:

Toyota has an engine, but they didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen... ... Which is why they can claim a first when they put their proprietary D4-S port and direct injection on a tried-and-true boxer engine.

I just discovered these cars last week. I haven't had the opportunity to drive one yet, but I did see one at a Scion lot. It is a fine looking car.

I'm thinking about a BRZ Limited. I Like the heated seats, automatic climate control, Torsen differential, and xenon lights in that version.

No way I'm getting rid of the MINI, but I'd dearly love to have the Soul Crushing POS (Honda Civic) be replaced with a BRZ.

Anyone's local Subaru dealer got these laying around. My local dealer is the pits. Usually only has maybe 15 new and used Subaru combined on the lot at any one time..Let alone one of these..
Would like to hear from some people who either bought and or has gotten to really drive one.. or the Scion for that matter.. Already hearing talk of the engine area being hard to get to.. are you going to have to take half the car apart to do much of anything in there??

Send a PM to MINIFIED. Her son is taking delivery on a BRZ sometime in the next couple weeks from a dealer in Raleigh.

I drove an FR-S before I drove the MINI that I wound up buying. That ought to say something right there. The FR-S is a very sweet car but it is simply not as fun as a MCS is. Not to mention the fact that the MINI gets better mileage, is more practical, faster, and currently has better aftermarket support.

I am a huge old school Toyota fan and have owned several Toyota performance cars over the years and was eagerly awaiting the FR-S so that I once again would have a Toyota to buy. I really, really wanted to love the FR-S but sadly all I could do was like it a lot. The MINI won me over quite easily and I am generally not a FWD guy.

Love the idea of the BRZ/FRS, but the back end / taillights are just plain ugly... in my opinion, of course.

For the money, I'd buy a used Cayman. If it had to be new, I'd probably go with something that's actually practical AND fun... like a MINI, Focus ST, etc.

A real test-drive may change my mind. I guess from driver's seat I can't see how ugly it is.

:cornut: Interesting...........it has direct and port injection so there shouldn't be a 'carbon problem.'
