I've actually realized that I've pretty well maxed out everything I want to do with my Roadster (I'm down to swapping wheels just for the sake of change). I miss all of the mechanical tinkering I was able to do with my '05. If the right '06 MCS came along I'd be real tempted. A Justa might be more practical, but I've already owned two and my Justa-Roadster is a long-term keeper. I keep recalling my 2008 experience of standing next to the Continental Tire Bridge at Road America and hearing the sound of a nicely equipped 1st Gen MINI getting on the throttle as it cleared the Carousel. Not a single person standing there could avoid an involuntary ear-to-ear grin hearing that supercharger spooling up, and they reacted the same every lap. It's all stuck in my head.
Managed to get the cavernous gouge in my new RSe05 wheel (thanks to the tire installer ) fixed today. Would like to say it was a total DIY, but I only did the fill. I resorted to the nice folks at East Side Body here in town to do the paint and c-coat. One day service, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Who would have known that Honda Motorcycles NH-403M Britany Silver/Effect is a perfect match for VW LSTA7T United Grey Metallic?
Any before and after? I ended up with curb rash on 1 of mine last year due in part to a collapsing curb in Iowa City. (the other part was me.....)
No before pic...but it was about 2" long right in the middle of the spoke at 5 o'clock in the pic, about 2 mm deep at one end.
good job on the repair. You were lucky , the finish could be reproduced faithfully , not so much with anodized bronze!:eek6:
was conisidering a wheel trade ,,, but was considering a wheel trade , but the seller did not want to , good thing! For Sale or Trade 18" JCW Wheels & Tires
Garage This what I did this weekend. Did not like the tan interior in the black car. Thought it would look better in the red car. And the black interior in the black car.
Very impressive. That doesn't look like it was a simple task. I always seem to find sharp things when I'm fishing around the seat rails.
Oh wow. That's too nice. I'd have to change a lot of priorities to get that one, keep it garaged, and not daily it. I'm not quite prepared for that. That's not to say I'm not drooling right now :drool
Sharp things, your not wrong. My worst cut came from a piece of plastic. The most difficult part was getting the carpet out from under the heatercore on both cars. They both went back in alot easyer than they came out for whatever reason. Had fun doing it.
