A big thankyou to Minidave--He found me a place that seels a trailer that I can just drive the scooter in for loading and unloading. This will save my back for sure. I sure wish I knew hot to search :confused5:

I think a trailer would be a far better solution than hanging several hundred pounds out past the back bumper of a Cooper......I see those carriers - usually on the back of an SUV - and even there they look precarious.
Good luck with your search Goldsmithy, I hope you find something that works well for you so you and the Missus can keep rolling together!
One of those trailers I found had what looked like a plastic blowmoulded cover - lightweight and keeps the weather out - looked pretty interesting. Let us know what you wind up doing, OK?-

Small Trailer for Scooter or Wheelchair
Hello,
To those of you that have been asking and looking, I have received some requests about pricing, etc.
You can purchase a Scoota Trailer from Access Mobility Equipment. Some say pricing is not listed but it can be found by clicking the link right below the picture on the page: Access Mobility Scoota Trailer for Scooters and Power Wheelchairs | Access Mobility Equipment
You can also configure your trailer and create your own quote here: Scoota Trailer for Mobility Scooters or Powered Wheelchairs | Access Mobility Equipment
I hope this helps answer your questions. Scoota Trailer Pricing starts around $2500. It is the only truly handicap accessible trailer for scooters and powered wheelchairs. It can be pulled by almost any vehicle requiring only a class I hitch because the tongue weight is less than 75 pounds. It is designed to be easy for one person with limited strength to be able to operate.-

Harbor Freight has an inexpensive trailer that would be perfect for this use - it even folds up so you can hang it on the garage wall....add a plywood floor and some D-rings to tie it down and you're golden.
40-1/2" x 48" Small Utility Trailer - 1090 Lb. Cargo Capacity
Also here's a company that makes trailers specifically for mobility scooters and such. They don't show prices on their website but claim their trailers are light enough to be towed by a Smart car or electric car. Some are fully enclosed too.

Here's another, with an enclosed trailer - no prices again...

They also make scooter carriers that simply use the hitch.

Hitches
Goldsmithy,
We do have Hitch solutions for your car, and our hitches are class III rated. I'd be more than happy to go over what we have to offer. My email is [email protected] -

He has a Minifini hitch, do you make a mobility carrier for the hitch system?

Yes, they do Dave, and a very good one. The trailer I found will carry more than just the scooter, i.e. camping 'stuff', etc. My plans are to have a solar charger on the roof of the trailer to keep the 'scooter' always charged, along with camera batteries and such.
I got the hitch first...because I wanted the best. Class3....and a lot more class than that -
