You drive a MINI......who needs a bike?
:biggrin5:
Have you thought about the MINI FINI or Minidomore hitch systems?

No, the Yakima I mentioned uses clamps that attach to the rails above the side widows Yakima Racks & Carriers › Shop › Rack Systems › Naked Roof › Q Towers.

I have a little experience with a Yakima roof rack on a MINI, although it can be installed and removed by one person, it helps to have two involved in order to close the roof trim clamps simultaneously on each side for even tension. It's important to keep the foot pads and roof contact area clean to avoid permanent markings. A roof rack kills gas mileage, with or without a bike bra on the bike, or bike on the rack. This should go without saying, but damage from this mistake happens often, you can't drive underneath most covered parking with the bike on top; some fast food lanes will bite too.
I pack the MINI, stick the bike in last, and use bungees to keep it all secure. -
I don't drive the MINI into the woods if I can help it.

I have a Thule roof rack that works great. If it's just me for a short distance, I'll fold the rear seats down and push the passenger seat all the way forwards.

I have one of these on order from my local bike shop (yes, online is probably about $20-30 cheaper, but you gotta like supporting the local guys). They have both a 2 and 3 bike model, $199-209.

The reason I am going with this model is price as well as the fact that this rack can be used on our Camry. This is a pic I found on the internet.

Here is a link to a British Mini forum thread where a guy bought the genuine Mini Convertible bike rack - a thing of beauty:

Leaning toward USA built Thule 9001 Raceway™ 2 Bike. Just don't like the idea of all the dirt , soot and crap that covers the rear window mucking up the bike.
No worries about drive thru fast food, nothing on the menu i care to eat.
Do all roof systems require drilling holes?
