A classic example of this tire manufacturing defect looks like this..........

Have you ever seen it before? I have seen this from time to time on various tires, but only recently learned what it indicates. And no, it is not caused from Ninja's trying to kill your tire with honor or from rolling over a machete. :nonod:

A more matured version of this defect will be deeper and more pronounced, but the defect will not necessarily extend all the way across the tread. It will eventually cause the tire to shake/shimmy, etc.. This could eventually evolve into a real safety issue, regardless of how you use the tire.

No matter where you bought your tire, this is a manufacturing defect warranty covered item. Additional road hazard warranties are not required as they just do not apply.

While it does seem to be a relatively rare failure mode, it does happen so be aware.

BTW, for Discount Tires as they are warranty replacing my experience with this defect.
