If you are asking me...I have absolutely no objections.
It all could have been handled better, but I understand the OP's desire to create some drama to be seen above the din. If I was to have issue at all with that thread it is the way the vendor handled it.

Looks like the vendor stood up, guess time will tell how tall.
This community is so well informed, and connected, because of this site, the "other site" and others, that you can't pull the wool over our eyes very easy.

it's funny you say that because a vendor like M7 did just that, with the help of NAM and the members for quite some time. :arf:
-
The referenced thread was one of the drivers for me to make MA my primary forum using NAM only for reference and history. I too had problems with the specific vendor's delivery credibility which I mentioned in a couple of posts followed by way too much drama for my tastes.
Glad to be here where it reminds me of the old days over there. -
lotsie Club CoordinatorOK, like the old saying goes, "you can fool some of the people, some of the time, but....":ihih::lol:

Just lifted this from over there;
"saying that the product is faulty is debatible. It works but its too damn loud, and the fix they said would take care of the problem cost me additional and didn't work.
I say us that live in california take a little drive down there and kick some ass and get our money back. It would be a cool Mini convoy and and itimidating gathering. Can you picture a whole bunch of Mini pulling up at Riss and a bunch of pissed of guys wallking towards the shop. Adam would **** his pants
Vince"
This takes Bashing to a new level
.

goaljnky New MemberI agree. But I also understand the frustration that something like that would arise from. It wouldn't be inconceivable for an [internet] vendor to become lax in their customer relations knowing that they are separated from a face to face with an irate customer by a few hundred miles.

I can't help but wonder if this is another delay tactic. I've seen this dance throughout that trainwreck on the sewing site.
Time will tell
All I can say is I know who I never will do business with unless I have product in hand when I hand over a CC# -
lotsie Club CoordinatorI'm sure this is an empty threat, but it probably turns many people off, who will hopefully migrate here

What...no MININuts (NSFW) membership! :ihih:
I see it as there are or were the big two. "That other site" being US based and MINI2 being UK based. From those two came a lot of spin-offs. The majority started around the same time the Big 2 were sold off to more commercial ventures.
M|U being more of the design and social oriented types. Been around quite a while compared to the ones below.
Mini Torque - UK based with more of an emphasis on performance.
Mynes - Commercial forum for to support their own product line.
Coopernation - Very social, very little in the way of performance. If I had a tech question this and then next entry would be the last places I'd look.
TotalMINI - UK based spin-off of MINI2 that was formed within days of MINI2 going commercial. Very social as well but with a European view of things.
Lets not forget all the regional and local clubs forums as well. Some are very active such as MetroplexMINI, some are full of the sound of chirping crickets. -
goaljnky New MemberAbsolutely. The threat is 100% E-thuging.

We are now officially seen as a threat to "that other site". They have added a censor in place for the URL.
You won't find me stooping to that level.PHP:http://www.****************.com -
Congrats Nate, you have arrived! :cornut:

I got a very curt message from the power (singular) that be. I was of the understanding no links in signature. I don't think the power that be likes me:rolleyes5:
