I'm not a member of the sewing site. But I think I've been put on the pre-banned list. Oh well my loss.:lol::lol::lol:

 

One of my personal favorites was being threatened with a ban from one of the moderators because he didn't personally agree with the tire sizing advice that I was offering to a NAM member who was asking for help. It was his second or third day as a moderator and he felt that his new found authority could best be used by banning someone for offering help to another member :lol:

 

I remember that. And you were out of line. You and your poking and stretching and lowering and such. You crazy whipper snappers. Bah humbug.

 

Dang you guys make me feel pretty good, only time I was spanked was when a certain Brit was going on ad nauseam and I posted "blah blah blah". Felt terrible about it at the time.... LOL

If the above mentioned grey scavenging bird were to become a supporting member of M/A, would he then find it necessary to ban himself???:arf:

 

Hell would freeze over, goaljnky would have a fleet of GT3's - one for every day of the week, lostsie would drive around in dirty cars all the time and Steve would stop watching F1. The feathered moderator has not been logged into this site since the day I took one of the titles of a thread he started in mixed case and made it legible for old folks like me.

Thing is, the Birdman of AlcaNAMatraz is out of commission for awhile; he ran out of MINI related things to put faux carbon fiber on, so now he's spending all his time figuring out how to make Fake 3M Carbon Fiber covered condoms or something....

But hey, the other Steve is going to tell us today we've been doing it all wrong and that we have to use the new iphone wearing rubber gloves. So things are starting to turn around.

 

Indeed and using what you post on M/A and using that to take what you posted on NAM out of context... Like they tried to tell me I posted "I'll be over on Motoring Alliance" just so I'll get in trouble.

MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - ns1/ns2 cam question

Quick summary:

1. All of Onasled's posts were removed. Not sure they were RMW friendly enough.

2. Jan insults some people.

3. The guy that always posts in every thread about how good RMW stuff is and how bad NS stuff is enters the fray. He will now and forever be known as "Smoke and Mirrors".

4. Jan insults some people some more.

5. More rah rah for Newman cam, and a total diss for cam cards and cam timing


6. Dr. O writes a couple of very nice, informative, understandable posts about how all this stuff works. He is either misunderstood or ignored, not sure which.

7. Original poster long gone. Predict the thread will continue in his absence until folks start talking about each others mothers, at which point it will be locked.

Pretty much sums up the thread.

Thing is I actually like Jan, outside of the message boards, but why does it have to always be this way? Heck, Newman cam is on my short list (But I hope to get my car to Way in the spring, I'll go with his recommendations), but if that's the route I go, it'll be despite threads like these, not because of them.

And boy...

does all that crap gives me a headache! the funniest thing that I saw was the NS cams getting dissed for providing some numbers by people who buy products with no numbers! It's the opposite of the Emporors New Clothes. It's like a naked guy laughing at someone who actually has some clothes.

Anyway, well see where it goes. I'm hoping that my posts inform some. I'm not going to say a Newman cam is crappy cause the Newman site uses advertised duration. Newman lists three or four cams for the Tritec and I'm sure that they all work fine!

All the product cliques are just like the groups of girls in high school. fighting over nothing.... It's really sad. I really don't know why people have to do these proxy wars. It's not even like saying "My schlong is bigger than yours" it's more like "my vendors schlong is bigger than your vendors". Don't people have better ways to spend thier time?

That thread actually had some great info, if you are willing to actually read the posts instead of just heaping on more crap.

 

I can understand someone being (overly) prideful of work they have done on their own car, but I'll never understand the mindset that leads the nutswingers to get emotionally involved in discussions about the person they pay to do their work for them ut:

 

well...

it's quite on that thread now. don't know if I bored them to death, or just pointout out the truth of what's there in the markets and they chose to be quite. Who knows. Someone else there started another thread about a cam for his dads justa, and I gave some generic info, then PMed him with some NS specific information. I didn't want to have to deal with another expoding thread....
