Although related, the motor mount problem -- and hence solution -- is a separate issue to the need, or not, for an engine movement damper. My recent swap from a TSW-clone to the VIP stabilizer showed a significant difference in engine movement. This new TSW mount has something like the VIP built in. I can't wait.
So Mike, was Nathan's track adventures this past weekend the conclusion of this final phase of testing? Are you guys ready to make a list and tell us the introductory price?
The testing phase is complete, yes, but we're still working the business end. All of the work is sourced, but we're waiting on a couple of quotes before we can announce the price and release the drawings for quantity production.
If anyone local to me...Dallas TX area...wants to drive the car to see how it feels just PM me and we'll arrange something.
Mike, how long are we looking at, ballparkish? My hydraulic damper is shot, I'm on the list for one of the first ten, but I've got to get it on the car by July 13th (next track day).
What are your impressions after hitting the track Nathan? I'll be buying one of these at some point if they work out as planned. Nice work TSW.
My job was to make sure the thing did not break and make sure other badness did not happen. I beat the crap out of it..lugging the car, ya know that really bad lurching you get especially from a new driver with a stick. Did some nasty downshifts where you dump the clutch and are 7500 rpm or so in the lower gear. That is some off the stuff I did. Bottom line, it did not break.
I am not sure what you consider breaking so this might be a pointless question but, did it look any worse for wear? Like maybe some discoloration at high stress points? Thanks alot
Will this motor mount also work for the r50? I've got an '05 MC that has gone thru two and I might be looking for another solution.
