4 (oem)- x = 1(left) x = 3 (lost) I desperately need these as my front jack points are touching the ground now
LOL. nice missing variable equation. but are jack points really necessary? when i jack my car up, i just use the metal frame since i have no choice hah.
sign me up lost both my front OEM ones. I asked at a recent club event if anyone else has lost them. Got some strange looks (more than normal) I figure that it must be 1) a first run R56 thing 2) I lowered the car or 3) because I drive like a freaking maniac. Like to think the later....
AX cones seem to eat the OEM jackpoints on BMWs and MINIs. We find them all over the courses on a regular basis.
Where else are you going to place jack-stands? My OEM jack points are still on the car, despite being badly marred.
I need to revive this old thread. I hear that the OEM jack points are easy to remove and even fall off, but mine (2nd Gen) will twist a bit, but won't come off. I have pulled with pliers and pried with a screw driver. What am I doing wrong here? I want to install the TSW ones. Jim
^^^ Get a track day in and hit lots of AX cones...... They should pry right out. Maybe take a short length of 2x4 set the square end on the side of the OEM jack point and give it a swift smack with a large hammer.... Simulating hitting a curb.... It should pop right out.....
If you can get a small screwdriver into the middle of the jack point, there's a plastic rivet in there. I forget if it's the unscrewable kind or the pry-the-middle-part-out kind.
Oh yea that's right you got one of those thar R56 justa's I forgot when you asked me, everything is easier with an R53!
I really need to get these soon. Mine are starting to get chewed up...don't need one failing on me when the car is jacked up :frown2:
Sounds like another R53. According to Mr Jim every things falls off an R53......er.... I mean, is easier with an R53? Jim
I tried what you said, as I think the frame is still the same as mine, but those suckers just do not want to come off. :mad2: Jim
