I am using a Innovate wide band to log a/f ratios.

I preferred MA in the pre-Jan days.

Just like I preferred my Mini in the pre-Jan tuned days.

That was one thing nice about MTH
Anyway, there are a few options and that's good. While a couple names get thrown around a lot, there are many more who do tunes for our cars. It just sucks if you're not near any of them cause then it's a hassle to do stuff.

Exactly why if your one that wants to or is changing and adding power mods often a flash tool and the things needed to do remote tuning is a good investment to consider. That said my tune is now almost two years old and still makes me smile every day but there has been no major changes made to the motor..

I don't know why Dimsport does it the way they do it...
but the way MTH uploaded/downloaded was just a laptop and a cable! Cables are cheap for sure. I'm guessing the Dimsport guys want to keep thier files encrypted or something hence the need for a remote tune tool.
Whatever works is good!

Think today's custom tunes go far deeper and are more involved than those tunes were too. From what I understood those tunes pretty much stuck to a certain set of changes and went no further...

You can narrow down the parimeters you are monitoring for more accurate monitoring. The more parimeters you are monitoring the less accurate. Between 7-10 seems to be the best.

Thank you K-huevo - You make my point. We have real data, and can use it to tune. Before ECUs we had to read sparkplugs and other things. today we should be able to custom tune from a distance. The one thing that we do not have on MINIs is a wide band O2 sensor. Adding that and the information from the other sensors should give the tuner what he needs.

HMMMmmm...... one day, I will get TUNED. Still learning ..
Just me...............................

I was curious about the possibility of a remote tune. Detroit Tuned recently brought over the Mynes for a tune party but I could not afford it at the time. I am glad a remote tune is possible, since the next tune party is likely a couple years away.

You will need to purchase equipment to do it. Contact the tuners that offer remote tuning capabilities and they will be able to give you the details and pricing.

Wasn't always so...
but yes, the tuners now have more experience on which to base thier tuning decisions.

Going a bit farther off topic...
the MTH didn't do checksums, tuning or anything like that. It just uploaded and downloaded the files. The tuning was done back at MTH so there wasn't any real way to hack the tunes. I'm sure that bit compares were done though.... Same as one could have done with a JCW vs S tune....
Anyway, they seem to have given up on the US market, so it's really a non-issue now....
