Going a bit farther off topic...

the MTH didn't do checksums, tuning or anything like that. It just uploaded and downloaded the files. The tuning was done back at MTH so there wasn't any real way to hack the tunes. I'm sure that bit compares were done though.... Same as one could have done with a JCW vs S tune....

Anyway, they seem to have given up on the US market, so it's really a non-issue now....

You can check out palmerperformance.com. This is the software I am using for logging.

Wow this thread got huge quick. Anyway my question was what's the difference between the different tunes from people (main two that come to mine in Jan and Way Motor Works). What all can you do with a tune? I'm mainly talking about a tune that you could get at like....Mini's in the Mountains, or some out of town event.... Hope that's a little bit more in depth...

Under your conditions a 'canned tune' is your best shot. Be very careful that the tune that is selected for you will work for the ECU that you have in your car. They can vary, I am dealing with the downside of that right now

Anything beyond this type of tune would require use of a dyno. While possible I don't think there will be one at MITM (at least there wasn't one last year)
