Clean both surfaces and spray them with hairspray before reassembling. The hairspray will dry and keep things stuck together, but you'll still be able to take it apart if you want.

Are the mating surfaces oily before you clean them?

Yes it was a little oily. I thought the catchcan would do a better job. Great idea using hairspray. Gonna try it now.

2009 N14. The BSH catch can is connected to the cold side of turbo and the back PCV is plugged. I cleaned everything up, used a little hairspray and drove it hard just now and all is good. I did notice that the clamp was getting a bit deformed so I straightened it out before I reinstalled it.

It might back out a bit but it won't come off. Every MINI I've had has done this.
