Some people say it was detonation though there was no sign on the spark plug off this at all, so we're still confused ..that block has been through a lot of nitrous abuse over the years......so those cylinder walls have flexed more than most :)

So after fitting coilovers and bushes and a pulley today to a customers MINI we rushed up to Santa Pod and got there with 1.5 hrs of track time left, unfortunately when the big boys are out there are more chances of oil downs / accidents :( so we only got 2 runs instead of the possible 4 -5 for the amount of cars signed on

So the first run netted us this

    SuumerNats112512491_zps43bbdbfd.jpg

So looks like Thomas picked the right rpm for the launch control :) Old Red's first time in the 1.6s 60ft

Now the coulda woulda shoulda is that Thomas still shifted early 1-2 and 3-4 so we believe there is a some time left on the table :)

On the 2nd run the 60ft was a 1.6606 :) but then Thomas forgot where 2nd gear was so he aborted the run and trundled up there in a 16.6. which is still 1.5 secs quicker than a std MINI One :)

If the weather holds tomorrow we're scheduled for 3 runs :)

Sorry no connection today reception was really bad....must be the weather

So best run was the first run

    60ft.........1.7166
    330ft........4.789
    1/8th........7.2554
    mph..........100.52
    1000ft.......9.3814
    1/4...........11.1649
    mph..........126.29

The 2nd run Thomas rolled out of stage as the lights came down so no time was recorded

3rd run was a [email protected]

All runs was into a very strong head wind which must of been costing us at least a 1/10th and 1mph

We ended up qualifying No7 so we face No3 who qualified with a 10.9478, so we've got to pull out of the bag tomorrow to go past the first round

We've learnt a lot and are very pleased with the data we've recorded........IAT started at 19 and were at the finish line at 21

We've had a lot of fellow racers admiring the work that the boyz have done

There's been a lot of situations today that I've been really happy that we've only got to worry about ice cubes rather than nitrous bottle pressure

Sorry for the lack of update, so to recap on Sunday our plan of out qualifying our other 11sec FWD racers Mat & Ben went well
    2013JapShowqualifying_zpsc58f9228.jpg

The only problem was , we were expecting to be in 4th then meeting Mat in the first round so we could have a nice tight heads up race, but because Calvin only made qualifying pass, guess who we got in 1st round again
    2013Japshowladder_zps70503e4d.jpg

Even though Thomas tree'd Calving, Calvin top end charge was enough to beat Thomas by .6 of a sec (last run on the sheet)

A great pic from Santa Pods very own DJ

So we still remain 6th in the champioship, our 4th round is this weekend at The Retro Show at Santa Pod

Unfortunatley its been a busy week here at the Webster's so no video has been made as yet......but for now pics of the weekend are availble here on our FB page

We might leave it now, as I have to get it MOT tomorrow so I can take Jake to his prom on Tuesday in Old Red

The Sprintex is waiting to go back on one of the courtesy cars we have, I've still not finished playing with it yet :)

You ave to remember that I bought a turbo and a manifold in 2006 ......so its taken this long to get around to turbo Old Red :)

Unfortunately customers cars take priority :)

Soon as I start playing with the sprintex again I'll let you know.....at the moment the 60fts are very similar for each configuration.
