    Waco Run 2010

A scenic and spirited drive planned for the Metroplex MINI club of Texas.

Credit for this map and route go to agranger.

It will take you through the roads of NE Texas... taking the long way from Burleson (south of Fort Worth) to Waco.

    Turn #40
Be careful of the traffic circle. Take a lap or two around for fun, then pull in to the Elite Circle Grill for lunch.

    Goin to Lunch
Join the group from the Baker Ranch (if we stop) and head to the Elite Circle Grill for lunch... Rosemary Chicken, Fajitas and Dr. Pepper Ribs! Mmmmmmm.

The largest traffic circle in TX!
Always head to the right (counter-clockwise) and be careful... folks in the US are not used to traffic circles and there may be some erratic driving here!

38 MINIs from the north side and 13 people came up from Houston (another 6 MINIs, maybe), for a total of 44 cars!

The Waco Run #8 (The Ocho) came off without a hitch, no MINI harm and no tickets that I know of.

    Photos to come!

A first this year: A guy in an older Camaro got in the middle of one of our run groups and stayed with us through 4-5 turns through twisty roads. During a stop to wait up for the group to reassemble, someone went back to talk to him. He saw the group of MINIs, figured that we were headed towards some great roads and joined in on the fun! He drove with us for 20+ miles before pulling off. The event is so much fun that everyone wanted to join in! :D

Old thread, I know (but so am I).

Drove much of this route last Saturday, from Austin to Granbury, to pick up my Clubman S. It was a melancholy trip up, saying goodbye to my high-mileage SVT Contour in the fog-enshrouded hills between Belton and Glen Rose, but a pleasant, sunny drive back, looking at the bluebonnets from my 2009 Clubman S.

Yea! Welcome to the MINI world.

Now that you are MINI'd up, be sure to join us next January for the full run. Seeing 50+ MINIs all in one place and chaging up the twisties is a blast!

Mark it on your calendar: Jan 5, 2013!

Is this still being done? I'd love to join in on the fun, but see no mention of it on Metroplex Mini forum.

Yep. This event is still happening!

Dave, who runs the event now, will be announcing soon. He's roped me into working up the map packets again. The end point will be the Dr. Pepper museum in Waco, with a catered lunch there, I believe.

I'm not 100% sure of the date, but I'm 95% sure that it is Saturday, Jan 3, 2015.

Ask and ye shall receive: Waco Run 2015 - Saturday , January 3rd 2015 - MetroplexMINI

For anyone in the Texas area... this is one of my favorite events. It was my first group drive with my R53, way back in 2005. I ran it for 5-6 years before moving to CA, but every year I feel an urge to hop on a plane and make this drive.
