Or at least teaching their athletes phrases they can use in real life, like "Would you like fries with that?" Or "Not guilty, your honor." :frown2:

We graduate in Wisconsin, in Kentucky, we don't....
Rum4, whomever did that sign is obviously a fan of Kentucky and not a graduate--everything was spelled correctly so I'm assuming they went to school somewhere else.-

I couldn't care less who wins, after all my teams got beat way too early. However, I'm definitely not pulling for UConn after hearing that it's already No. 1 in another category: The University of Connecticut is the only school in this year's tournament with a single-digit 2013 NCAA Graduation Success Rate for its men's basketball program (9). Next best (worst?) GSR: 29. The average for all of the participating teams is 72. UConn also was the only program with an NCAA Academic Progress Rate below 900.
The UConn basketball program should be shut down until someone there remembers that the primary function of a university is education.-

UCONNs graduation rate is due to Calhoun, not Ollie, another reason I don't like Calhoun. It will be MUCH better under Kevin Ollie, who appears to actually care about his players. Can't get much worse...
There have been a few Badgers in the NBA, and they're easy to spot. They're the guys who never take their sweats off, and keep the water bottles cold for the ex-wildcats. Of course, when they're all done with the NBA, and all those wildcats go bankrupt because they didn't learn how to manage their money in their one year of college, those magnanimous badgers are usually more than happy to rehire their ex teammates at slightly than minimum wage, so it's all good....:cornut:-

It was a good game. I am not a collage athletics fan, I am all about the education that is “supposed” to be provided. But our places of higher learning are not really worried about all that as long as that green stuff keeps coming in. As someone that was in and still around the military it provides a sense of pride when “your school” makes it. I just happened to grow up down the road from UCONN so yea I route for them, usually for the women’s BB team though. Oh, the women play tonight for another championship and have a 92% graduation rate.
If they pull it out it will be only the second time that men’s and women’s teams from the same school have won the NCAA championship for the same sport.-

I dunno, the college athletes are over paid too. As Alonzo Highsmith famously said, after four years of college, he decided to take a pay cut and join the NFL. Not a big fan of "one and dones," big time college athletics is far from "the student athlete" ideal, it's tough to watch at times. Calipari can spin it any way he wants, but I have more respect for coaches like Wichita State's or Wisconsin's, and not just because I live there.
Won't argue about pros being overpaid though.
GO WISCONSIN!!!!! -
I've gone that route too. I remember when I was a kid (grew up in Champaign, Il) and bled orange and blue, and followed college basketball and football religiously. It's just not the same, although the tournament is still great as is bowl season.
