I can't get over how much computer you can buy for so little money these days.
Big monitors are cool, but I find I use my (17") laptop more than anything anymore. I don't remember the last time I turned on my home desktop.....
The constant lack of forward compatability is what keeps me from updating to Win 7, or any other Wins.
Hell, my work computer is still on Win 98 - and works perfectly, I might add.....
Welcome back to the interwebs, Jim.

What's not working on Win7? I'm running it at home and have found very few problems, except 64-bit IE8, that's nasty

I did the new compucker upgrade a couple of months back, and 7 works fine for me, and was easy to switch my stuff too. Now I just need to re-sync my iPhone/Firefox app. thingy:mad2:

7 works fine, but if you have older hardware that worked well with XP it may not play nice with 7. My 7 machine works well, but I had to buy another keyboard, mouse & printer that worked with 7. :mad2:

This may be old news to most of you, but the guy recommended an LEED monitor. Something about the pixels having their own light source, rather needing back light. The picture quality on this thing is fantastic.

Wow, I'm feeling smart now. The sales guy recommends a Belkin Easy Transfer Cable, so I can switch the data off the old computer to the new one. He says it is simple, but then he looked about 19 and I am a tad older then that, so I had my doubts. Tonight i decide to give it a shot and find that it was easy. The instruction book was written for an idiot (that would be me). It had lots of pictures and "one sentence" instructions on each page. It looked like a third reading book, similar to "Dick & Jane" (no smart comments here MM). I had no problem at all and the wife will be impressed when she gets home (yes, I have hidden the instruction book).
Only one down side. It only works transferring Windows XP to Windows 7 or Vista so it is a one time use item for $39.00. If anyone elase needs to do this I'll send it to you.
