I'd like to personally thank NHTSA for doing the heavy hitting work of keeping me safe from misleading stickers.

 

Maybe they got Barry to proof read the stickers

This is where the door jam ingredients come from. It's an old recipe, not very tasty though, and kind of gritty.

 

From now on, I'm weighing everything I put in my MINI, just to make sure I'm in compliance with the sticker.

 

They probably figured they could slide by and not get caught...:fingerscrossed:

No one looks at that sticker in the whole world except The Mod Father and only when he has dirty jambs and he needs something to read while he's cleaning them.......

 

Or when he's trying to make the stickers rust... :biggrin5:

 

It's a typo, it's not a sticker its a front bumper.

And if they do when they clean out the door jambs.... Do they even read it?

 

Yes every time I clean out the door jambs! Now ask if I have ever read it... Thats a different story!

 

Kinda interesting the NHTSA caught it and once again MINI didn't.

 

Sorry - the NHTSA didn't catch it. BMW did. BMW noticed the discrepancy between what they had on the sticker and what they were seeing in post-release development testing so they issued a voluntary recall on the sticker and alerted the NHTSA that they were out of compliance.

The NHTSA probably would have noticed eventually but at least BMW caught it first.
