No Marriage yet! Got the cable but the software does not see the Mini system. The tech seems to think my company laptop security has blocked some of the download components. Now I might have to buy a cheapo laptop to put the software in. Oh well few more days , no worries.

I looked on youtube and found a link to install the software with the help of the IS guy. Seems I needed to click a few buttons. Going to try it tonight.

You're all waiting like me for the engine to run again.....The rally dude came over, plugged in his $3000 scan tool, reset everything and bingo the engine fired up on the first turn. Woooooooooooo hooooooooooooo I did a merry dance..............then I said let me check the engine at 3000rpm. I did and yeap the fault is still there.....the tech ran a few tests with the scan tool having the only error code as multi-cylinder misfire......same crap as before. He said this was a strange error which he was going to ask around for a cure. Meanwhile the ECU will be off back to FL to be checked again.
I thinking engine wiring loom to change next and a crank sensor.
Sorry folks to be the bearer of bad news. -
On top of this why would something as general as an overheating unit cause repeatedly something as specific as misfire at particular RPMs.
I would dare to guess that there's something wrong with how the ECM interprets data at very specific range which would probably indicate corrupt software and on a level more basic than the tune.
The more i think about it the more i believe that IF the issue lies with the ECM then some module that stores that basic software responsible for interpreting whatever data must have some bad sectors or something.
How much did you pay for the ECM repair? -

The thing is the Tune has been in there since 2012 working in 120F temperatures plus even the standard tune does not work. . I think the ECU is suspect and the ECU guys didn't do a full test or because the engine mounts are solid I thought maybe vibration has caused some shorts in the wiring that confuses the ECU.

Receiving an email saying to be patient is better than a sharp stick to an eye but how much time is needed to repair it again and if they cannot do you get your money back or another unit ??
