Might want to add to the post the differences between the two generations.

Nathan,
The only definition I know for Gen 1 vs. Gen 2 is model year.
If there are other differences, I'm clueless, so feel free to elaborate on any details that I've overlooked.
Thanks! -

GP 3rd Brake Light
I am fully confused:confused5::crazy:
I obviously know the GP is a first gen, but the 3rd brake light is different than 3rd brake light on all other 1st gens. It looks more like 2nd gen but at the base of rear window, not on top. But are electronics different, I don't know? Has GoMINIGo determined this? Have they sold to GP owners? For what gen should I buy? Any advice guys?

The two versions of the flasher that I know of were the original where you had no choices the lights were pre-programed to flash either at 4 or 6 pulses when brakes were applied each and every time you hit the pads. The second generation allowed for owners to choose slow or fast again 4 or 6 flashes and if you wanted smart brake feature in that if you were in stop and go traffic the light would flash the first time and then if the brakes were reapplied within a few seconds they would not flash but act normally the second time. These two options are changeable by the owner and the flasher unit works in Generation 1 and 2 along with the Clubman. I'm sure the unit also works in the Countryman as it was designed to work with the LED brake light not the car. This was the first mod I did to my car and has saved me more then once from getting hit.

Not to muddy the waters.
I believe there was a 1st generation flasher. It was improved upon & is the 2nd Generation one. They will work on either flavor of MINI.
Best shoot GoMINIgo an e mail & find out for sure. If I'm wrong I'll eat 3 donuts in a fit of remorse. -

The Flasher (peekaboo!) was upgraded, hence "Gen 2".
So....I no longer need to know if your MINI is Gen 1 or Gen 2.
Order is being shipped from GMG today! WOOT! -
