FWIW, for those who don't want to hacksaw their V1 hardwire module, the flat power cord could be easily routed down under the edge of the headliner and a-pillar cover, and an add-a-circuit used in the fusebox on my 1st gen cabrio... I suspect the same approach would work on the 2nd gen...

I'm not sure if I was just being too gentle, but I was unable to get the power cord down the A-Piller in the 2nd gen. It seems to be a lot less pliable then the 1st gen. counterpart. I was however easily able route the power the same way that you mentioned in my 1st gen.
