Wow - tough one dude. Good to hear the tire didn't get wrecked.

That's why I carry a few valves with me in the car along with my plug kit and compressor.......

It may just be hearsay but a tech at a local shop was telling me he was seeing an unusual high number of valve stem failures and theorized there was a bad batch from China, I myself had one fail last summer but luckily the dealer in Jacksonville, FL replaced it for me quickly, I need to get a few spares to carry around myself though.

One of my buddies used to carry around a schrader tool with his keys. Used it for revenge.
Someone he knew tried to bully him in a bar, so he when he left, he just loosened the the cores enough to give the guy an annoying and unpredictable leak, whereas for weeks he would walk to the car and find one or more tires low on air, depending on how he parked.
Another time, someone parked behind him at a party and he asked them to move the car before they went to sleep because he had to go to work the next morning. As I'm sure you know, they didn't move the car. The next morning, he had to drive through the yard and a ditch to get out. Once he finally got out, he parked, walked over, and removed all 4 cores from the guys car. 10 hours later when Scott left work, dude was still stranded. He put the cores back in, but nobody ever parked behind him again. -
That's so much better than the juvenile slashing of the tire, you can see a slash. For weeks my mom used to put a few drops of oil under her bosses car, no revenge, people in my family are just evil like that.

Thanks for posting. I was not aware of this!
I did notice that my wife's new tires do indeed have new stems. -
Taking out the valves for revenge/mischief sounds hilarious.

I had a tire valve fail recently on my wife's car. The side cracked open - air release was rapid! A local shop replaced it and balanced the tire for free - but that's probably because I just had her car in there for a new clutch...

Hmmmmmmm
I say valve and you turn it into a question of valve stem. I correct you and you still don't get it.

Ok, you guys are just getting terminology confused.
The vast majority of people when you say tire valve will think of the entire valve stem assembly and not of the of the actual valve encased within.
Let it go please. -
