    Poor Lynn.......

I assumed the OP was referring to the Schrader valve not the valve stem as failing. Thus I was trying not to confuse the issue anymore than necessary.

I see it didn't work for you. :blush2:

I love your sig addition Nathan!

Can we give it rest now please...

When getting new tires one should always opt for new valve stems unless such as the one pictured below that is standard in a Works Wheel VS-XX.

    To clarify

BTW, isn't my new Screen Cap tool pretty nifty...those circles and arrows are so easy to place and use...

Thus the reason I carry spare valves in the car. As the valves can get damaged while changing pressures at the track.

I like the oil drops under the car. I think taking it a bit further and squirting some on the lower skid plate at a seam would make it even better.

I was talking about the big rubber exterior part of the thing, as Nathan points out - the valve stem. They showed me the valve stem after they took it out, the rubber was all dry and cracked. There is a good chance that the previous tire shop (a different one) didn't change it out.

WOW.......now that's something I would be getting upset about.

Clears things up a bit too

Am I the only one who uses BW on that and occasionally treats it with a bit of tire dressing? I agree it should be replaced with the tires (since even if you treat the outside the rubber inside it is still drying out).

A second valve failed on my wife's cooper (within a few weeks of each other). The PO replaced the tires, I'm thinking that his tire shop did not replace the valves...
