Vancouver Christmas Wish Toy Drive 2010 Sorry...this is regional and I don't know how to start a new thread somewhere else. But Christmas is coming. I was wondering if there is an appetite amongst Vancouver BC MINI drivers to meet up at 6:30am at MINI Yaletown's service centre and convoy to the Pan Pacific Hotel to donate a toy (or more) and have breakfast together (it's free) before heading off to work or school or whatever. This year's Christmas Wish happens this Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Pan Pacific Vancouver Christmas Wish Breakfast - 96.9 JACK Fm - Playing What We Want - Vancouver Radio - <%article_title%> - Community Calendar I do this every year, but the last couple of years, I've been the lone MINI. So if nobody expresses interest, I'm not going to stop and wait. If we show up as a group, we usually get mention on traffic radio and can issue a challenge to other car enthusiast groups to do something good for the community. __________________
I can probably move it to 7:00 if there's enough demand. But so far only Rixter has signed shown interest.
Kudos to Beken for organizing. If it wasn't for him I never would've gotten my butt out of bed so early. I'd never been before, I was really impressed with how well organized it was (thousands of people) and cheery mood that people were in. Radio station JackFM is hosting the event. Ken went to the radio desk with an M/A card and challenged other MINI owners and car clubbies to come out with a toy. Nate, the radio host was really impressed with the sturdy M/A card! (Mark, if you were there, I didn't see you)
I'm disappointed in you, Mark. Looks to me like your MINI wasn't fast enough to get here for this. :frown2: I'll attempt to post some pictures later.
