Hello. I am an MBA student and an employee within the automotive industry attempting to gain insight on how impactful social media and other advertising resources are in regards to vehicle purchases/leases. The survey is a joint project for both my class and my employer, and I was curious if anyone on the site would be interested in taking the survey? It will take approximately a minute to complete, and could be very beneficial to improving the vehicle purchasing experience for everyone. The link is below. Thank you for your time!

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YVKNRZZ

P.S. If this is by any means against the message board rules, I do apologize.

This survey assumes that social media is a large part of my online experience, when in reality it is insignificant.

HAHAHAHAHA......sbowen, as you can see this forum is mostly populated by silverbacks that have chosen to shun social media now "Get off their collective lawns!". I would be curious to understand how many forums you have posted this survey on and how many responses you have gotten.

In the decision for buying the last car social media had nothing to do with it. But I understand the survey. The younger generation is influenced by it. So if your selling anything them you need to understand it.

Silverbacks.... that's a polite way of putting it I suppose. I took the survey, and have a feeling the majority of people who answer "I clicked on ads on facebook" is going to be limited. I use all of the social media outlets, will never click ads. People change the channel on radios/TV's to avoid ads, it's the same on social media, I'll take the time to hide ads rather than click them.

What automotive manufacturer is requesting this info? That's where I am curious.

One would assume you could just read the rules of a site before squirting your survey links all over it. Js.

After popping back in here, and reading the latest comments, I decided to open up the survey. It's just as I had thought, largely irrelevant for a Silverback... I did complete it though. I feel so good about my choice to remain abstinent from that social thing..

I opened it, too. Most of my replies were marked "other".
If this was this guy's quest to gain info, he sure didn't get much from me.:nonod:

The OP entered 0 info about his/her/it's self in their profile. I'd be willing to bet they'll n'er return. Shameless plugs like this to get folks to click a link should be deleted. Js. If they're not a real MINI owner or about to be one they shouldn't have access. May just be a bot, or you click the link and bam - ransomware.

Curious about what a "real" MINI owner is... does a real one wave? does a real one drive it year round? does a real one not understand social media?

There's no difference from that guy and the "word of the day" post that maybe a few people read but never comment on.

Love the amount of negativity and petty bitching on here, it's why I come back.
