There were a lot of new cars racing but it was the most empty infield I've ever seen on a Friday and Saturday. That said it was a really wet weekend.

Saturday the rain didn't stop until just after 12. Then as I was packing up at 5 it started again. They bulldozed the trees right across from the Ss to build a new grandstand for NACARP. They are also going to be widening the track also. But the the same layout.

 

You'll know they are in trouble if the place starts looking like Nelson.

 

I love Nelson, the track not the facilities. Some folks don't care for it, might be that it is a very fast track, the tire walls or the johns???

I think it will take 40 years or so for Mid Ohio to drop to Nelson's level. They are trying to save Nelson & I hope they succeed. :fingerscrossed:

Speaking of Nelson Ledges Road Course (and due to Crashtons pictures), I remember a time trials day when a Hertz GT350 showed up and ran the course and then motored off into sunset. Good times, good times !!
