Great shots Chuck. There were a lot of new cars racing but it was the most empty infield I've ever seen on a Friday and Saturday. That said it was a really wet weekend. Saturday the rain didn't stop until just after 12. Then as I was packing up at 5 it started again. They bulldozed the trees right across from the Ss to build a new grandstand for NACARP. They are also going to be widening the track also. But the the same layout.
I love Nelson, the track not the facilities. Some folks don't care for it, might be that it is a very fast track, the tire walls or the johns??? I think it will take 40 years or so for Mid Ohio to drop to Nelson's level. They are trying to save Nelson & I hope they succeed. :fingerscrossed:
Speaking of Nelson Ledges Road Course (and due to Crashtons pictures), I remember a time trials day when a Hertz GT350 showed up and ran the course and then motored off into sunset. Good times, good times !!
