Chris if the weather looks good I may go up in the morning. Today was a wash as far as neat old cars on the track go. I shot a few pictures of some modern cars on track. Sat in the rain with my friends, ate a soggy sandwich & went home.
Just got back. Wet most of the day although the track dried out around 3:30 and the Porsche crowd got to run some better laps. All in all, a wet day at Mid-Ohio is much better than a dry day at the office :biggrin5: BTW, I set up an extra chair between Nathan and I for Jeb Whooley...I think he sat there most of the day
That was fun. Yeah, it rained a little but never hard. Sure there were times when 1 car would be on track, or even none for a session. However, it was with good people and a mostly fun drive up, well save for that Camry doing 42.7 in a 55 on a dead straight road. The sandwich as only partially soggy, I did get wet, I dried out, I got a little muddy, but I saw some cool cars, a few good spins where nothing was hurt and all in all had a good day. And...I got to laugh at all the people driving around the Short North looking a parking spot while I walk down to Comfest...
Best part of today was being with good friend's. The rest of the day not so much. The weather guesser's are calling for a good day tomorrow, although they also guessed today would be lovely. ut:
just a few pics from Saturday. I wish I knew how to just post them in the message. Maybe someone smarter then me will help.
Photos from SVRA Here are a few pictures I took Saturday. The weather was nice, quite a change from Friday. Cars actually took to the track. New photos added.... SVRA Mid-Ohio 6-25-2011 - crashton's Photos
Thanks guys I'm glad you enjoyed them. I had fun taking them. I really enjoyed the Alfa's. Quick little cars. I really couldn't understand those most modern Porsche Cayman's at the vintage races. They sure were fun though. Stay tuned I plan to add some more to that gallery.
If I remember correctly the Caymen are part of a one make series that Porsche did this year where you had to paint your car to match a historic Porsche. I think they are following the vintage cars in the US because many of the participants own vintage race cars.
