My vote is for white.

White seems logical to me, you could add a small red and/or blue accents along the edges to tie into your roof graphic, but that might get a little 'busy" looking......
But I think the real question is, what do you like on there?
Then go with that.... -
Aye, white was my first thought.
Maybe a ghost color so that the stripes are not such a bold statement.
If a ghost color, what color?
I'm sure there's some interior decorator's/color experts in the community.
Let me hear your ideas.
Thanks,

Again, it may look a little busy, but I did see a lime green stripe on a BRG car and it made a great comparision. If subtle is a goal, I'd skip that idea then. And with the roof, white may be the way to go. I do think an accent stripe of a half inch or so on each side would set it off nicely though. Use that as the color accent.

If wanting a "ghost stripe" maybe get a sample of a frosted crystal vinyl and lay it on and see what you think of it. It is usually used on glass to give the look of sand blasted glass.. Might be cool... then again might not..

I'd say white too

You didn't indicate whether you are striping with vinyl or paint. If striping with paint I would mix the BRG and add some flattener. That will give you a tone-on-tone look as opposed to ghosting. In my opinion, a white stripe with the Union Jack will make the car look too busy.

Try yellow stripes.
Not a MINI, but this Caterham that I had the pleasure of driving looked amazing in British racing green with a yellow stripe. But I think that part of the nosecone should have had some yellow on it.
