So.....after a little jaunt in the hills today....sorry guys....not a car in this months competition can hold a candle to a modded up R53 :biggrin5: The sounds, the smell, the instantaneous acceleration, the razor sharp handling.....sorry peeps....but pictures and pink hearts....are not what a Mini is about :arf: A Mini is meant to be drivin, and drivin hard! :beer
being an internet forum, it's hard to vote on anything but what we can see..... with that said, and even with my very opposing views on the mods you've done to your car aesthetically, i gotta say you have the right attitude! When you're sitting behind the wheel of that mini, ripping through some curves, what's putting a smile on your face? It's not some silly stickers or a roof rack that's for sure.
Oh, boy! Here we go again about "nothing beats R53" song... Well, that's all OK, if you prefer your supped up "warrior tattoo" R53 over my "roof rack" R55... My mod list is not just roof rack, it is there (visit my garage and read it if you did not do it by now, I did read your list btw... And "non existent" list of "the other Clubman" in this month's game). Sooooo, there I said it. I am glad you like "ripping" your MINI on daily basis. Great! Again, it's you thing. But, to put down others for not doing the same?.... And now, back to the issue of "overwhelming with photos this month"... Since when it is bad to have nice photos of your car and display them on a forum? Oh, yes, I know: when you have none of yours... Again, I am repeating my offer: if anybody beats me this month, I am giving a free lesson in how to photograph your car, and when you're done how not to use "dizzy" effects etc... Motor on! P.S. no pix in this tread, so nobody will be "overwhelmed"...:biggrin5:
I submitted my vote based on over all mods and how clean/well kept the car was in accordance to my taste. I would have voted for your car whether it was photo'd as it was, or with an old camera phone. "Offering free photography lessons" is a cocky ass statement dude. Not every car enthusiast is an aspiring photographer like every single Hipster sipping his PBR that he instagram'd about on his iPhone. Some car enthusiasts are car enthusiasts. Again, I still believe you have the cleanest and most well-rounded car in this thread, so I voted for you based on my opinion in that respect. If this was a judgement of photography skills, you might still win but it's not, and it should not be looked at as such. If this were based on character and class, I might have voted for that gaudy sticker car or the stock Clubman for sure.

Whats interesting about my "aesthetic" mods is, everyone that sees my car in the flesh, old men, little kids, bikers, run of the mill people, all say they like it :lol: Seems the only people that don't are a select few here :lol:
Again, as before I respect your opinion about the topic. I appreciate your vote for my car as well. I understand you don't like my character. That is fine as well. At this point, you might as well switch your vote to who ever has the best " character" by your standards. I am sure, for Nathan it is just a click away. As far as being "cocky ass statement", I will look back on how other people on this competition reacted to my photos in first few pages. Throwing any kind of images with their "favorite color of the month"... How do you call that? After all, this is a online forum. How else somebody can find out about the car they never saw, then by photos. I was under impression that people here like seeing nice photos of other MINIs (not donuts, flowers and etc.). I know, I do. But, maybe i am wrong? I entered this competition thinking I can win because I documented my car good enough with my photos for people to appreciate. Nothing else. Now, it seems from comments so far it was a wrong idea. Now, I am not a proper car enthusiast?... I know, I am:cornut:
Being a R53 owner...i could care less about the 1st and 2nd Gen measuring contest just like also being a classic owner i could care less about the classic vs new mini contest...all owned by bmw all have their strength's and weaknesses...R53's have more instant on HP but suffer in the torque catagory...just like Classic minis will always out handle the new MINIs...

That's all fine and dandy. The people who choose to approach you about your car typically aren't going to say they hate it lol. And on the same note, the cool thing about anyone's opinion other than your own(myself included), they don't matter one lick! It's your car. You put a trendy outdated tattoo on it(sorry had to lol), and you love it. That's what matters. When you do something to your car, make it look better, go faster, cut in sooner, stop quicker, it's for YOU. You look at it more than anyone else, you drive it, we don't. Keep doing what you love man.
