    It is not hard at all on the 2nd Gen, but I have no first hand experience with a 1st Gen. I have seen a number of links showing how to do it on a 1st Gen and it looks about the same, so you should be able to do it.

    Cool, thanks. Just wondered if you have to take the whole door panel off, or if it's just the speaker covers themselves. Seems like taking the door panel off would be a chore?

    The whole door panel has to come off. It sounds harder then it really is. On the 2nd Gen cars you simple remove one pin at the door handle and just "pop" the panel off. No problem at all.
