    That was a blast!
    You couldn't pay me enough to stand along the sidelines like those idiots, much less at that snowy turn :eek6:!
    Also, what was with the banging sound when every car reached about 2/3 thru the tunnel? Was every car backfiring at the same point or was it something else?
    The car with VACCA on the side had a pretty impressive driver.

    There were some very nice lines taken by several of the cars. I agree about the spectators, but Europeans don't look at things the way we do. We would have done the same thing back in the 50's or 60's, before all the safety police got organized. :Thumbsup:

    Notice how the driving lights were across the bonnet, like the WRC car?

    Yep.....they were all shifting at about the same time thus the backfire. Some of them were just louder than others.

    Back in the day of Group B cars, on more than one occasion, cars would come in with bits of fingers stuck in the spoilers as it used to be a badge of honor kind of thing to touch the car as it screamed by. Pretty simple equation - touch speeding car, finger gets caught, off it comes. :shocked:

    So fans today are pretty tame in comparison... The biggest risk nowadays is with those peering through some camera, not realizing how close the vehicles are to them, and not having enough time to react to any out of control adventures.
