And my compressor is one noisy SOB. So I would go with the electric leaf blower to dry the CM.

Or just let it air dry or just use a lot of microfibre towels like I do.

Even if I get OCD about getting all the nooks on the CM, I still find water drips later, so out comes the MF and Hydro. :)

Since I'm the designated Countyman washman, I do a power wash then vacuum using a small had unit.

A caution, I find that if you have a daily driver (aka wife) who parks under a locust tree and leaves the sun-roof open for air circulation you gather a number of pesky locust leaves. They dump into the CM when you open the pull screen/anti-glare screen. WAPITA.

I sometimes use a low step stool to get the sunroof with hydro.

I sure wish I had OctaneGuys setup, that looks SUPER.

Sounds to me like Lotise is going to have to come up with a new detailing section. :cornut:

I was thinking more along the lines of a compressor, or the blowing end of a shop-vac.

    Get an electric leaf blower.

Use an electric powered leaf blower. Do not use a GAS POWERED ONE because the gas ones always blow a little oil onto your paint job.

I don't dry a R56 without one! Not knowing the CM closely will this work? Don't see why not after you've dried the exterior

Thanks for the suggestions. The blower actually will work better for me because when I use my garage compressed air it runs low and is constantly rebuilding pressure.

I'm going out on a limb here, but isn't that what it is suppose to do?

DUUHHH ! Jim, I need to explain better....it runs out of pressure and I have to WAIT for it to build back up again. It's the WAITING that I have issues with

Can a shopvac be reversed? Or would it run the risk of blowing dust onto the MINI even if it was possible?

You learn something everyday. I never thought of the electric leaf blower. I've been using a micro fiber cloth and wringing it out a million times.

    Thanks,

Ive used my little shop vac (on blow) a few times as well. Works ok, but not as good as the air compressor

I have a Metro vacuum that is also a blower. I vacuum the car first, then wash the car, then reverse the vacuum and blow dry. It's a very useful unit and pretty to boot :D. It was kind of pricey when I got it, but having it always there ready to use made it worthwhile, I can just leave it where it is and do a quick vacuum since the hose is 25 feet long.

You can see it hanging on the wall to the right of the desk.
