From posts on MetroplexMINI.org, I believe that one of the Dallas area dealerships is doing the recall work if your car is already in their shop for another reason... "Since you are already here, we took care of this for you."

No letter yet. Kind of interesting that they are taking so long with the letter notification. As a part of the NHTSA program, they are supposed to send out letters if there is a safety issue. So far, for all I know, its a viscous rumor campaign put out by Justa owners.....

Welcome to M/A TurbineMD!
My wife just bought a justa Clubman Sunday. We have 9 days left on the warranty. Ours goes in Friday to have a few adjustments made & to give it the once over.
Not sure about your dealer, but ours said any fix that they do is warrantied for 2 years.
Good luck with the new MINI. Seems like you & your wife are smitten.- Like x 1

Took my 07 MCS in for an oil service and Mini of Monrovia (CA) said they'd take care of the recall issue before I even had a chance to ask! My letter arrived 2 days later. Guess it depends on the dealer's customer service...

I have my 07 going in April 18 for recall and oil change, taking the 09 JCW in for recall on April 12, don't own the JCW but I am the caretaker, I think it has 3200 miles now.

You probably will notice the "sweet" smell of antifreeze after driving the MINI, probably leakage onto the engine / transmission, but it went away after a while....- Like x 1

I have had the same think happen when my MINI has been in there. I tell them no wash & it gets run though their not so gentle auto car wash rack.
Now I tape a big honking sign on the dash when my MINI is in for service. It does work.
Glad you got your MINI de-flambe'd....- Like x 1

I think the letters are just a ploy..... Everyone's been trained to wait for the letter.... Wait for the letter.... Wait for the letter...
Meanwhile they are sneaking people in during normal service... While we.... Wait for the letter....
This then reduces their cost burden by tying it in with something else.... -

Maybe....
There was quite a bit of indrawn breath scarediness over this one the KC forum, I posted a link to the info Nathan posted here and it pretty much stopped the stupidity....
Still, I think MINI has moved pretty quickly once they made the announcement - I didn't expect parts availability till March or so, considering they said they were going to do all the dealer's new and used in-stock cars first. -
Just as a note here...
Not all dealers are as proactive. Please be sure to check with your dealer before showing up and requesting the water pump recall fix. Many of them will want you to wait until you have the letter in hand before scheduling the service appointment.
As the letter arrives to those affected please post on Motoring Alliance so we can see how this all coming along. -
Made a few calls today to check parts availability. There are some dealers that have the water pump on the shelf and some that do not as of yet.
Some of those that have them on shelf are calling owners in their area, some are not.
Some dealers with parts on the shelf will look up your VIN and if on the list will schedule you right away without the letter in hand.
Some dealers are waiting till you have the letter in hand and call them, then the parts are ordered.
The moral of this story...
Call your local MINI dealer and see how they are handling the recall.
Please report your experiences so all can see how this is being played out. -

:cornut: Just another pathetic sheep following the flock and waiting for my letter.

I was having a coolant leak repaired at Clear Lake Mini in Houston and since I'd read the recall was coming, I asked if they could replace the aux. water pump at the same time. The replacement pumps arrived Wednesday and they replaced it today.
