Wow. Let me just do a quick U-turn on the highway from the cruising lane. *******. One more reason Drivers Ed should be mandatory in every state. Too many cases of blind leading the blind goin on.

Driving properly is becoming optional for many people, and I swear a lot of distracted drivers are driving larger vehicles. I think it has something to do with feeling more detached, more isolated, or insulated, from the sensation of what's outside... and they loose the right perspective and common sense. It's ridiculous! -

IMO I don't think Drivers Ed is going to fix these problems. There is just to way to many distractions these days that are finding their way on to the road, all in the name of convenience, or a lack of a freaking life. Growing up I remember watching the ladies putting there makeup on or the gents reading the paper...while driving! ... scared the hell out of me! Now its just freaking crazy. Honestly what or who is so important that the phone instantaneously hits the side of you face as you close the car door heading off to work at 6 in the morning? If I was going to get hit by one of these morons I would rather get in by a Escalade these days than a 74 Lincoln back in the day, those bad boys didn't have no freaking crumple zones.
This all kind of reminds me of something I heard on the radio the other morning...

I'd love to hear what George would have to say of all the conveniences of today -

I used to ride the bus into town, it took twice as long as driving my car.

Sometimes the bus is a zoo on wheels for humans... So there is the entertainment factor to consider:eek6: -

Oh, I can always pass a bus, they pull over every other block to let someone on or off.

There are a lot of factors that could be reviewed and upgraded: the quality of the people teaching drivers ed, the quality of the people administering the tests both written and driven and perhaps every bit as important is the quality and depth of the tests. Today you can read a pamphlet and five minutes later pass the written test. Make it a real test where it will require a degree of knowledge to be able to pass and having a license might mean something.
